Tarvarus McFadden

"DRAFT PROJECTION Rounds 2-3"

"NFL Comparison: Patrick Robinson"

"BOTTOM LINE Press corner with long arms and disruptive qualities but lacking in foot quickness and makeup speed. McFadden put together a highlight reel of impressive interceptions with NFL-caliber ball skills, but his ball production dropped sharply this year. McFadden has cover talent and makes life miserable for receivers when he’s contesting catches, but inconsistencies in coverage and as a tackler have hurt his team. He has starting level talent as a bump-and-run corner but may need help over the top."

Thoughts

Man, I’m not sure there was another player FSU fans were more frustrated with last season than T-Mac.

Some of it was unrealistic expectations after leading the nation in interceptions as a redshirt freshman. The other was sheer inconsistency in coverage as he’d make a great play and then get abused on others.

Overall, I don’t think he had a bad a year as fans thought as some of the frustration was when he was returning punts. That was something he never should have been doing in the first place.

I’m positive McFadden doesn’t have the wheels Patrick Robinson had at FSU, but and that’s one reason McFadden won’t be taken in the first round like P-Rob was.
