FSU football brought in a outstanding 2018 recruiting class given the circumstances. We take a look at the superlatives for one of the nations best group of players.

The changes at FSU football had fans unsure how things would shake out this recruiting cycle. However, Willie Taggart showed why he’s regarded as an ace recruiter, closing with the best transitional class in the country.

As we’ve documented, the class moved from the mid-60’s to finish No. 11 in the composite rankings ahead of Florida and where the former coach ended up.

Here’s a run down of superlatives for the 2018 class:

Biggest Surprise –Jamarcus Chatman

The ‘Noles had a good idea of who they were expected to land on National Signing Day, but the biggest surprise was between Anthony Grant and Jamarcus Chatman.

I gave the nod to Jarmarcus Chatman because most Miami fans believed he was a lock to sign with due to them being in desperate need defensive linemen.

They could offer the true freshman almost immediate playing time and they received the last official visit the weekend before NSD.

However, in the end the allure of being a Seminole was too much to overcome and bookended an awful closing to their class.
