FSU Football: Deion Sanders interested in coaching at FSU?
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football great Deion Sanders has hinted at helping as a coach at FSU.
FSU football coach Willie Taggart has talked about getting the right fit as far as coaches and players at FSU to get them back on top.
He’s hired a coach for tight ends, running backs and linebackers but still needs a defensive backs coach and defensive coordinator among others.
Former Seminole great and NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders has hinted that he could be interested in coaching at FSU in the future.
Sanders has made it clear he’s excited about the hire of Willie Taggart and now seems fully committed to supporting the program as he was not happy with how the transition between Bobby Bowden and Jimbo Fisher went down.
Thoughts
It’s intriguing to think of the prospect of the greatest cornerback of all times coming back to coach at FSU football. A guy that could walk into any home and recruit any player he wanted based solely on who he was and what he has accomplished.
Will it happen though?
Probably not, because Sanders makes at least a couple million dollars per year as an analyst for the NFL Network. Also, would he really be interested in daily grind of coaching and recruiting in the college football world?
I have my doubts. However, that’s not to say we can’t see Sanders make appearances at practice at times or workout with defensive backs during the off-season.
His son Shedeur Sanders (class of 2021) was offered a scholarship by Willie Taggart earlier this week, and there’s a great chance he’ll follow in his father’s footsteps to play at FSU.

If that’s the case, we can expect Sanders to be more involved with the football program.
At any rate it’s great to have the support of one of the most recognizable FSU players of all time back in the fold.
