The College Football Bowls begin Saturday with ACC teams beginning play December 26th.

The ACC dominated college football bowls in 2016 and was the best conference in the nation culminating in a Clemson national championship.

We predicted the conference would take a step back in 2017 with several teams having to start new quarterbacks, but the conference performed better than anticipated.

The ACC will play in 10 bowls in 2017. That’s down from the 12 played in 2016 which saw the conference field a (9-3) record in college football bowls.

That was by far the best bowl record with the SEC and Big 10 both being below .500 and the Pac-12 going .500 during the stretch.

The question is, will the ACC dominate college football bowls in 2017?

Thoughts

Oddsmakers have ACC schools favored in six of the 10 bowls and one game as basically a pick’em game. The games ACC schools are betting underdogs are games they could win, but it’s hard to predict how teams will play with such a long layoff between games.

By contrast, the SEC only nine teams going to bowl games with three of those games against the ACC. It’s another opportunity for the ACC to prove they are the best conference in the land once again.
