Oregon

It has been reported by multiple people he told the Oregon players that FSU was his dream job on Friday.

What more could he tell the players at that point? He had’t been officially offered a contract by FSU football right?

Yet, Taggart continued to coach those kids and prepare them to play in their upcoming bowl game. The fact of the matter is nobody knows how things will shake out when it comes to negotiating contracts.

He couldn’t put himself in a position to say he definitely was not going to FSU. If he said he wasn’t interested he would have been lying to those players and to the Oregon administration.

Changing jobs for coaches isn’t easy sometimes and that truly seemed to be the case for Taggart who had a great relationship for those players by all accounts.

The fact he continued to recruit and coach those kids while at Oregon just in case those negotiations didn’t pan out should speak to his character.

Was he supposed to pull a Jimbo Fisher and not recruit for the last week? He was upfront with everyone from the jump and should be commended for that.
