Media

This interview was published on Thursday, December 1st, and you can tell Taggart is already aware of what the media is interested in talking about.

Taggart has been consistent with his timeline of his agent being contacted by FSU on Thursday (not sure of the time with the time zone difference).

He wasn’t contacted by FSU until Sunday, but Taggart met with his team Friday, Oregon athletic director and Phil Knight and communicated his agent had been contacted by FSU and that he was going to listen to their offer(he was interested).

I know some point to Taggart saying Oregon was his dream job.

However, let’s be real for a second, no kids from Florida grow up thinking they want to be associated with Oregon football or dream of playing there. Oregon has become a good program over the past 15 years or so, but to think it’s a place with a lot of prestige is misguided.

Taggart has pictures from when he was a toddler with FSU clothes on for Christ’s sake. Ok, back to the media.

There’s nothing to comment on because he has not been offered a contract by FSU at this time, but he has been courteous enough to let his superiors AND the players know what could be possible.

Beware of Some Media

When you do say something some media will take words all out of context like the tweet below:

Taggart didn’t tweet anything close to saying he was staying at Oregon. Below is the tweet Footballscoop Staff was referring too:

Taggart was simply tweeting about what he was contractually obligated to do as the Oregon head coach and there was no contract offer when he tweeted that on December 2nd.

At the same time, he’s continuing to coach AND recruit at Oregon. A certain someone that used to be at FSU did none of that.
