Chop Chat College Football 2017 game picks: Week 13
By Jason Parker
Ole Miss at Mississippi State (Thursday) – Maybe when the season first started, this game looked like one that might be somewhat competitive and one we might have to take seriously. Now, it’s just a bad SEC West game that might be slightly better than a bad NFL game between the New York Giants and Washington.
Preseason Pick: Mississippi State All Pick: Mississippi State
Miami at Pittsburgh (Friday) – As much as we all don’t want to admit in FSU nation, the ‘Canes might be a decent team and will be playing for their first ACC crown next week. At this point, it might be a long shot for the Panthers to pull out the upset so we can point and laugh, but stranger things have happ…yeah, I can’t even finish that sentence. Just someone break that stupid turnover chain already.
Preseason Pick: Miami All Pick: Miami
USF at UCF (Friday) – If you had said this would be the Sunshine State rivalry game that would have the most on the line this weekend at the start of the year, you would have been a liar. Alas, the winner moves on to the American Athletic Conference title game – and a win by the Knights increases the chance they go to a big boy bowl game this season.
Preseason Pick: USF All Pick: UCF
Virginia Tech at Virginia (Friday) – I’m not going to lie to you, I had a hard time picking this one. The Hokies are going to be there with a solid defense, but the Cavaliers impressed me last weekend with being able to control the game early against Miami. If they can keep in it for the whole time, the state will be run by blue and orange the rest of the year.
Preseason Pick: Virginia Tech Jason and Zack’s Pick: Virginia Kelvin and Kyle’s Pick: Virginia Tech
