Jimbo Fisher Is Proven

A lot of people are doubting if Jimbo Fisher can change the culture of the FSU program. Admittedly, it’s not easy to do but the fact of the matter is Fisher has already done it once.

The belief Fisher plans to make drastic coaching changes to the staff signifies he knows what needs to be done to fix the issues. The fact he’s done it before should bode confidence in the coming changes too.

A lot of people won’t believe this but it should be easier for Fisher to change the culture at FSU.

Why? He’s got a national title and three ACC titles to show players, and he didn’t have anything but a dream to show them in 2010.

The offense and the defense will be fine next year. A lot of people pointing to the offensive struggles this season forget FSU has the No. 2 S&P ranked offense in the country while starting an inaccurate redshirt freshman QB in Deondre Francois.

The offensive playcalling is fine for the most part. The plays are there on offense now, it’s just James Blackman is a true freshman who can’t identify them fast enough to trust himself under pressure.

The defense is nearly elite on first and second downs, it’s simply fixing tactics on third and long that will make the biggest difference. Listen, the FSU defense held Clemson to 4.57 ypp which is a yard and a half less per play than their season average.

That’s with allowing 8 of 15 third down conversions in the game too!
