FSU football fans can finally take a much needed break from noon kickoffs and watch their ‘Noles Friday night against the 4-4 (2-3) Boston College Eagles.

Boston College will have on their Red Bandana themed uniforms Friday night. The Eagles are sure to have an electric crowd with that plus this being the game every CFB fan in the country will be keeping an eye on when they take on FSU football.

Matchup preview

Normally the story here is the FSU football offense vs the always stout Boston College defense. However, given how weird of a season it has been that is not the case this time around.

The ‘Noles defense will need to slow down the Eagles explosive offense that has all of a sudden taken flight (see what I did there) out of nowhere. Boston College has scored 40+ points in each of their last two games. In their win against Virgina last week quarterback Anthony Brown threw for 275 yds and 3 TDs. In the previous week against Louisville, the Eagles running back AJ Dillon ran the ball 39 times for 272 yds and 4 TDs.

Boston College has proven to be effective through the air and on the ground. If Florida State cannot slow this red hot Eagles offense down then last weeks reactions from fans will be relatively minor compared to what a loss here could bring.

The edge goes to…

Florida State. Boston College has put up impressive number on offense these last two weeks however it has been against two awful defenses. FSU is a different animal on the defensive side of the ball when compared to Louisville and UVA in terms of just talent.

This game will certainly be on the defense to win for FSU. The ‘Noles offense is currently averaging just 19.8 PPG. So every stop will be a crucial one for the Seminoles. Especially given all the injuries FSU has suffered on the offensive side of the ball.

Florida State is currently 2-4 (2-3) heading into this game. It’s easier to lay down and quit than it is to keep pushing for the best. It feels like a make or break game and will have a lot of impact on determining whether or not FSU will be bowl eligible or not.
