The college football season is now in full swing, so let’s take a stab at trying to make some money.

We’re back with another addition of Chop Chat’s best college football bets. We had a great week five and finished in the black with a record of 2-3.

This now puts our overall record at 14-10-1 after five weeks.

Recap

  • Pittsburgh vs. Syracuse OVER 66-Pittsburgh has like zero defense and Cuse can put up points….and their defense isn’t very good either. Loss, lots of scoring but more field goals than we needed.
  • FSU vs. Miami UNDER 46-Rivalry game…two inexperienced quarterbacks and two defenses that can make things difficult in the red zone. Win….was 3-0 at half…game went just as we thought until the final four drives made it interesting.
  • Duke +2.5 vs. Virginia-The Duke game against Miami was much closer than the score indicated and Miami’s defense is much better than Virginia…yet Duke almost matched Miami’s offensive yardage in the game. Loss, Duke defense couldn’t get off the field on third down and lost by a touchdown.
  • Louisville -3 (buy hook) vs. NC State-This is more of a fade of NC State than belief in Louisville. I know it’s a road game, but NC State is due to drop a game and Lamar Jackson and company should have better chemistry than earlier in the year on offense. I just hope Louisville’s defenses shows up. Loss, NC State tried to pull an NC State….but Lamar Jackson just doesn’t have enough weapons.
  • LSU +3 vs. Florida-The Gators have been extremely lucky this season and could easily be 1-3 instead of 3-1. LSU just lost to Troy for heavens sake, but Darius Guice should play and Florida’s run defense has been suspect. Win, LSU won outright.

This Week’s Bets

  • FSU -7 vs. Duke-FSU is the far superior team and the offense looked like they were finally getting it together. Duke’s offense is not very good.
  • FSU vs. Duke UNDER 45(buy hook)-Duke doesn’t have a good passing offense and FSU is stout against the run. I expect FSU to run the ball a lot against Duke too. A 31-13 score would win.
  • West Virginia -3 vs. Texas Tech-If you been around awhile…you know my rule. If a ranked team is the underdog. Watch out.
  • Auburn -7 (buy hook) vs. LSU-LSU barely beat Florida who’s one of the luckiest teams in CFB this season. Auburn’s defense is legit…and their defense should be able to hold LSU in check.  Looks like Auburn’s beginning to figure it out on offense too.
  • Georgia Tech +7 vs. Miami-Miami has struggled against the run all year and is coming off their first win over FSU in seven years. GT’s coming off a bye week….Perfect recipe for a L facing the triple option.

Next: 3 things to be on the lookout for against Duke

There you have it ladies and gentlemen. Remember to bet responsibly and don’t chase losses!
