FSU in The NFL: Week 3 Recap of Former Noles
By Jason Parker
Week 3 of the NFL season is in the books. As usual, there were plenty of former FSU Seminoles making plays around the league.
While the football weekend didn’t go the way that FSU fans wanted with the Seminoles dropping their second game of the season to the N.C. State Wolfpack, there was plenty to cheer about when it came to Sunday action as several former Noles balled out across the country during week three of the NFL season.
It seems as if anyone who played running back at one point for Florida State had themselves a heck of a day in the pros, with everyone getting a touchdown like they were being handed out in the Oprah crows back in the day.
Of course, it wasn’t all great as one of the best former FSU players in recent memory had himself a day to forget on the road. Here’s a look at how some of the top former Seminoles did this past weekend across the league.
Chris Thompson
If there has been someone who has balled out this season, it might be this forgotten former Nole up in Washington. On a national television stage against a good Oakland team, Thompson had a combined 188 yards and again showed he can catch the ball with 150 of those coming through the air. He also found the end zone again, giving him four total touchdowns through three games.
Devonta Freeman
It was a century mark day for the former Seminole as Freeman went for 106 yards on the ground in Atlanta’s win over Detroit. Freeman also found the end zone in this one, giving him four touchdowns for the season rushing and keeping him on pace for 1,200 yards this season.
Dalvin Cook
Keeping with the touchdown theme for this one, the rookie and all time leading rusher at FSU found the end zone for the first time in the pros in Minnesota’s win over Tampa Bay. Cook ran for 97 yards and added 72 yards receiving in the win, keeping him solidly in the starting spot with the Vikings.
Jameis Winston
On the other side of the field, the Buccaneers found themselves on the losing side of the scoreboard for the first time this season. Yes, Jameis threw for 300 yards and two touchdowns, but he also threw three interceptions – the fourth time in his career that he has at least thrown that many in a game.

Terrence Brooks
Since we want to finish on a high note, lets give some love to the New York Jets safety as he came up with two interceptions – including one off of a fake punt attempt – in the team’s upset win over hated rival Miami this weekend.
