FSU football finally returns to action Saturday afternoon at home against NC State.

It has been three weeks since FSU football took the field on Saturday’s and I assure you we’re just as hungry as you are to see the ‘Noles in action again.

The season has changed quite a bit after just one game. FSU has a new quarterback with no college experience and everyone else has already played three games for the most part.

NC State rolls to Tallahassee with a 2-1 record, losing to South Carolina in their opener and beating to inferior opponents the past two weeks.

They opened as betting underdogs and are still currently +13 according to most oddsmakers.

That was a bit of a surprise, but what’s an even bigger surprise is NC State fans seem to have very little confidence in the Wolfpack pulling off the upset.

They should have beaten FSU last year in Raleigh and return most of that team and the ‘Noles have a new quarterback.

We checked in with their fans courtesy of Pack Pride on Scout.com and it ain’t pretty:

"NC State 20Florida State 42A couple of weeks off to work in a new QB is what the ‘noles needed. They have too many horses and better coaching. State finds a way to keep it “respectable” even while missing an XP."

"No Vaselineoffense struggles some but we get a defensive scoreI think we hang in there, relatively low score & a chance to win at the endbut, since that means kicking will be important, we’ll loseState 21FSU 23"

"Noles 38Wolfpack 13Everyone is going to want to fire DoerenFSU is a little off due to the long rest and with a new QB"

"Pack 17 (yes we make a FG)Noles 38"

"41-7 noles ……….. we get a late TD while their depth players are on the field— we are not strong"

"We win, then lose to Syracuse."

"What? Their QB will not have seen any live action what so ever outside of practice! Not saying we will win, but their receivers are still top shelf and their defense is also top shelf. It will be close. We were a interception away from beating them last year and they had the same defense and a better QB."

"Believe it or not, this one will be closer than some think. Their same OL that got the last QB killed is still there. They better have multiple QB’s, they may need them all before this season is over."

"Its in Tallahassee. Our defense has regressed. They will be chomping at the bit, momentum will be huge for them. They are starting a 4 star qb and surrounding him with 4/5 star players. He will be just fine. Its not going to be close, its going to be a bloodbath especially if they are able to establish the run."

"42-10, FSU."

"We will get destroyed. Im thinking 50 something to 10. We lost to a horrible South Carolina team. Our defense cannot handle speed or anyone who has an ounce of athleticism. Anybody thinking we stay close, what the hell have you been watching these past few weeks?"

Thoughts

All valid points, especially the one that said if they beat FSU football they’d lose to Syracuse the following week. That would be SO typical NC State it wouldn’t be funny.

This isn’t the same defense the Wolfpack faced last year. It’s not close really, and they’re right there’s a ton of talent that will surround James Blackman at quarterback.

NC State’s defense seems to have regressed from last season  as they allowed an average of 5.8 ypp between Furman and Marshall. They have typically gotten smoked in Tallahassee under Dave Doeren too.

So it looks like their fans are probably on spot on with their thoughts although I’m a bit surprised by them.
