Conclusion

I feel good about this game and the oddsmakers in the desert do as well with FSU football opening as huge favorites over the Wolfpack.

Some people are surprised by the size of the line, but it’s a testament to how much talent FSU will trot on that field Saturday.

The FSU defense should be able to limit NC State’s offense as they did last year. I haven’t seen anything from this NC State team that scares me, not even their defensive line although I’m sure they’ll be pumped up on Saturday for the first quarter or so.

This game all comes down to how effective James Blackman can be. Now, historically Jimbo Fisher has done a great job of preparing quarterbacks for their first start.

It says something that James Blackman can come to Tallahassee and become the No. 2 quarterback in two months. I expect Fisher to lean on the defense and running game while attempting to put Blackman in positions he can have success.
