NC State Special Teams

If it’s one area FSU football needs to improve it’s on special teams. This NC State bunch brings a serviceable special teams unit to the table, well everything except kicking field goals.

Their field goal kicker last year cost them a number of times and the new one they have this year is 1 of 3 on the season.

The NC State punter A.J. Cole III is averaging nearly 44 yards per punt which is must better than FSU now and what Logan Tyler averaged last season.

The Wolfpack punt return game hasn’t gotten many opportunities his year as they are averaging just one per game. However, they are averaging just over 13 yards per return on the season.

Their kicker on kickoffs only has six touchbacks on 20 kickoffs, so there will be opportunities in the kickoff return game to make some noise.

Look for the FSU defense to try to create short fields for the offense in this one.
