The NFL kicked off their 2017 season this weekend, and several former FSU stars made their mark – here’s a recap of some of the best jobs and top names.

While FSU was busy this weekend getting ready to deal with a storm named Hurricane Irma instead of the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks, there were several former stars with the Noles who were working hard this weekend as the first weekend of the 2017 NFL season got underway with 15 games.

From the west coast to the nation’s capital, dozens of players who, at one time, represented the Seminoles showed up in full force – including one former Noles who picked up exactly where he left off during the final NFL game of the 2016 season.

Here’s a look at some of the top performances from the previous week in the NFL when it comes to those who represent the garnet and gold.

Dalvin Cook

The rookie who left FSU as the school’s all time leading rusher showed why he may be the early leader for Rookie of the Year, going for 127 yards on 22 carries Monday night as the Minnesota Vikings defeated the New Orleans Saints.

Lamarcus Joyner

Former FSU defensive back Lamarcus Joyner had four tackles and an interception return for a touchdown in The Los Angeles Rams 46-9 dismantling of The Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. The defense smothered backup quarterback Scott Tolzien all game, but it was good to see Joyner shine after being the center of attention in camp from those who wonder if he will live up to potential.

Chris Thompson

The Washington Redskins running back had a big day catching the ball out of the backfield. He had four catches for 52 yards and a touchdown in a loss to the Eagles. He made the play of the game when he broke four tackles on the way to scoring Washington’s first touchdown.

Jalen Ramsey

Second year defensive back Jalen Ramsey had three tackles and three pass breakups in a road win against the Houston Texans. It was a huge win for a Jaguars team who has again been picked to be one of the worst in the league, but had nine sacks in the opener to come up with the upset win.

Devonta Freeman

Freeman had a two touchdown performance that helped the Atlanta Falcons come away with a 23-17 road win against the Chicago Bears. It was just like old times for the former FSU star, who scored once last season in the Super Bowl for the Falcons
