FSU defense will hold opposing offenses to 4.5 yards per play or lower

The FSU defense finished last season on a high note after statistically being one of the worst FSU defenses in history through the first five games. They finished No. 10 in the S&P Defensive metric after facing arguably the toughest slate of offenses in the country and multiple future NFL QB’s.

The ‘Noles allowed opposing offenses to average 5.27 yards per play last season, and I expect that to drop significantly in 2017.

The FSU defense in 2017 returns almost everyone except starters DeMarcus Walker and Marquez White. The replacement for White is arguably already an upgrade talent wise The defensive line should be stout up the middle, linebackers should be better and the secondary is projected to be absolutely filthy.

Most importantly, the FSU defense will not face the same caliber of offenses faced in 2016. In fact, several teams on the schedule will be breaking in new quarterbacks.

This defense should feast barring major injuries.
