FSU Football: Ranking top 10 impact players for ‘Noles in 2017
By Kelvin Hunt
Derrick Nnadi is the anchor of the FSU defense and arguably the best defensive player on the team along with Derwin James. It was evident how valuable Nandi was last season when he was playing with an injured ankle.
The FSU defensive line wasn’t able to function as normal which left the FSU secondary vulnerable to explosive plays because opposing quarterbacks had time to throw.
Nnadi finished the season with 49 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and six sacks. The tackle for loss and sack numbers were huge improvements over his sophomore season.
Nnadi is rated among the best in the nation against the run. He’s excellent at anchoring and shedding blocks to make stops at or near the line of scrimmage.
However, he does an excellent job of penetrating in optimal situations and wreaking havoc in the backfield.
There’s a reason he was one of our players FSU couldn’t afford to lose the past two seasons.
