Tarvarus McFadden is arguably the top cornerback in the country and tied for the national lead with eight interceptions last season.

The scary thing is he should have had two or three more interceptions. McFadden only had 20 tackles on the season, but he’s there to only allowed 43 percent of the passes that went he way to go for a completion.

That’s impact in itself.

Not only will McFadden man the boundary side of the field, he’ll also start the season as the starting punt returner. If you’re a regular reader of Chop Chat, you know how we’ve blasted FSU football special teams the past few seasons.

McFadden returned punts in high school, so here’s to hoping he can make the punt return unit something other than a liability.

We questioned if teams would challenge McFadden in 2017. If not, that makes it that much easier for the ‘Noles defense to shut opposing teams down.
