Josh Sweat has a similar season to Matthew Thomas last season. It got off to a rough start where Sweat was injured early in the season, only to come on strong in the second half.
He finished the season with 41 total tackles which was the same as he freshman season. However, he increased his sack total from two to seven between those two seasons.

Sweat also doubled his tackles for loss from five to 11.5 on the season. This could be the season where Sweat is finally 100 percent healthy regarding the horrific knee injury he suffered in high school.
He’s the most experienced defensive end on the team and has communicated he knows he needs to step up in a leadership role in the absence of DeMarcus Walker.
Sweat has always been good against the run, but if he can increase his effectiveness as a pass rusher the FSU football defense will be unstoppable.
