FSU football has never had a chance to play their in-state rivals for the conference crown – but one website really likes that happening in 2017.

In the five times that FSU football has played in the ACC Championship Game since the inaugural edition in 2005, the Seminoles have faced Virginia Tech twice, Georgia Tech twice and blew out Duke on the way to winning the national championship during the 2013 season. While four teams (FSU, Clemson, Wake and BC) have gone from the Atlantic Division, the Coastal has also had just four teams advance.

One of those who hasn’t been to the title game? Why, the rival Miami Hurricanes – you remember, the team who was going to come in and run the “All Canes Conference.” Well, the men from Coral Gables are currently 0 for 12 when it comes to getting the job done.

In 2017, the media who attended the ACC Football Kickoff even last month voted on who they think will make it to Charlotte this December. They came back saying that the Seminoles and ‘Canes will meet twice this season – with FSU football being a big favorite to win it all.

Well, now you can add NBC Sports to the list of people who think there will be two editions of Florida State-Miami this season. College Football Talk released their preview of the ACC for the upcoming season and thinks both teams will win their divisions:

"1. Florida State After watching division rival Clemson capture back-to-back ACC crowns and play in two consecutive national championship games, the 2017 season appears to be Florida State’s time to ascend back to the top of the conference to wave the ACC banner in the College Football Playoff."
"1. Miami Get ready to ask all of your college football friends a familiar question at some point this season. Is Miami back? Florida State on the road is tricky, but home games against Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech could be good."

Not surprisingly, the website thinks the Seminoles will be one hosting their 16th ACC Championship after winning what would likely be their ninth straight game against the Hurricanes.

FSU football and Miami have met just once before in a game that was not their regular season meeting with the rivals. That took place following the 2003 season, when the Seminoles and Hurricanes met in the Orange Bowl game after winning the ACC and Big East, respectively.
