Stanford Samuels III

The highest ranked defensive back in the FSU 2017 class. Stanford Samuels III is a four-star legacy recruit who was formerly a five-star recruit before getting injured.

He stands at 6 feet 2 inches and 175 pounds while enrolling early in the spring semester. Samuels is advanced for his age because of his father’s NFL pedigree.

He’s tall with long arms the FSU staff covets in its defensive backs. He’ll likely take over the boundary corner position once Tarvarus McFadden declares for the NFL after this season.

However, he’s too talented to keep off the field as a true freshmen. As I mentioned with Nasrildeen earlier, FSU plays its defensive backs early so there’s no question the most talented true freshman cornerback will play a lot of snaps this season.

He can play the boundary or field corner position or the star position when FSU is going against spread teams.
