DJ Matthews

DJ Matthews is talented four-star slot receiver who choose FSU over a number of schools. He’d arguably be a five-star recruit if he was slightly bigger.

He’s 5 feet 11 inches and 165 pounds who is a nightmare to cover in space. We wrote last year he’s a combination of Peter Warrick, Kenny Shaw and Rashad Greene.

The biggest issue for Matthews will be getting off press coverage on the line of scrimmage because of his lack of size. He’s already a great route runner with reliable hands.

Much like Terry, Matthews will likely see the field because of the lack of depth at wide receiver. Aside from Nyqwan Murry, there isn’t anyone else other than Matthews who can do a lot of damage in the slot.

I expect Matthews to be limited early in the season, but will probably start being productive about halfway through the season.
