Travis Rudolph makes NY Giants first unofficial depth chart
By Kelvin Hunt
Former FSU wide receiver Travis Rudolph is making a strong case to make the NY Giants team.
A lot of FSU fans and media were scratching their heads when Travis Rudolph decided to forgo his senior season at FSU to declare for the NFL Draft.
Those same fans and media nodded their heads they were right to scratch their heads when Rudolph went undrafted in April.
However, Travis Rudolph may have had a master plan the whole time as he’s making some noise on the NY Giants training camp as an undrafted free agent.
In fact, he has made the first released unofficial depth chart Sunday:
Rudolph wasn’t expected to be drafted in the early rounds, so being able to sign as an undrafted free agent was better in some scenarios.
However, Rudolph still has a lot of work to do as with the case at FSU, most teams only go five or six deep at wide receiver. He’s not going to supplant Odell Beckham Jr. or Brandon Marshall so he’s competing for one of the last three or four spots.
As you can see in the interview below, Rudolph is also getting work in with special teams.
It’s not the end of the world if he doesn’t capture one of those spots. Rudolph can sign with other teams later in the process because of progress shown in camp if he doesn’t make the roster.
What’s Next
It doesn’t hurt when a player is able to get first team snaps in camp as an undrafted free agent. By all accounts Rudolph has always been a hard worker and he knows his future in the league is dependent upon how well he performs in camp.

NFL rosters are finalized on September 2nd, if Rudolph doesn’t make the Giants roster there’s a good chance he could sign with another team. Either way he’ll be making more money this year than he would have had he played his senior year at FSU.
