Deondre Francois

This is the most important position on the field for FSU football. Last season the ‘Noles had Sean Maguire on the bench in the event Deondre Francois wasn’t available.

However, the options get slim with JJ Cosentino and true freshman Bailey Hockman in line, as I expect true freshman James Blackman to redshirt.

Cosentino hasn’t shown anything to prove he can serve as backup in the event Francois can’t play.

That means Hockman would be up next. Now, I’m high on Hockman as he is the son of a coach and is talented in his own right.

I thought he showed some good things in the spring game and looked more poised than Cosentino. However, a true freshman coupled with how the FSU offensive line has looked at times last season? No thanks.

I’m sure Jimbo Fisher would protect him as much as possible, but it’s best if Deondre Francois leads the offense in 2017.
