Penalties

FSU football averaged 11.3 penalties per game in their losses last season. All of those were not offensive penalties, but a large percentage of them were.

That is not elite football and that will have to improve significantly if FSU expects to win the ACC and compete for a national title.

Think of how many false starts the offensive line had in 2016. What about delay of game penalties?

What about the holding calls against the offensive line?

Offensive penalties put the offense in severe disadvantages regardless of how good the offense is. Teams can’t consistently overcome 1st and 15 off a false start, or 2nd and 20 because of a holding call.

FSU football must decrease these number of self-inflicted penalties if they want to compete at an elite level in 2017.
