Turnovers

The FSU football offense turned the ball over 20 times last season which ranked No. 17 in the nation.

That’s not bad considering the tough defenses faced coupled with an inexperienced quarterback.

In fact, 12 of the turnovers were results of fumbles lost which can go either way depending on how the pigskin bounces.

The ‘Noles were fortunate the majority of the turnovers came against inferior opposition. In fact, only three of the turnovers came in the losses to Louisville and Clemson. The ‘Noles didn’t have a turnover in the loss to North Carolina.

However, 20 turnovers is still a few too many, nearly 11 percentage of resulted in either a fumble or interception.

The ‘Noles only had 15 turnovers in the 2015 season. If more of those turnovers had happened against better competition, that may have resulted in a couple more losses in 2016.
