FSU baseball’s postseason run continues Saturday night against LSU in the College World Series. Nine players had their names called in the MLB Draft.
FSU baseball is no stranger to having players selected in the Major League Baseball Draft. In fact, FSU baseball recruiting loses players every year to the MLB Draft with recruits opting to sign with MLB teams instead of attending college.
It’s a game one has to play if they want to compete among the elite in college baseball. The number of FSU players selected each season is a testament to that philosophy.
It’s also the main reason FSU baseball has won 40 or more games the past 40 years, and made the NCAA Tournament for 40 consecutive years.
With FSU making its first College World Series appearance since 2012, it’s no surprise they did it with a ton of players capable of playing professional baseball.
That's a wrap on the 2017 MLB Draft. FSU had 9 players selected, the most for the school since 10 in 1995!#Noles

Thoughts
This is a huge increase over last season that only saw one FSU baseball player drafted. John Sansone was drafted in the eight round by the Cincinnati Reds.
Next: Mike Martin Is Model of Consistency
The ‘Noles had seven players selected in 2014 and 2015. It’s got to be an awesome feeling to know you have the opportunity to play professional baseball while getting to play in the College World Series in the same season.
Congrats to these guys and hopefully they show out to bring FSU baseball its first long-awaited CWS Title!
