Ranking Justification

What could have been for Pat Narduzzi and the Pitt Panthers in 2016? They finished the season 8-4, including a loss to Northwestern in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl.

Narduzzi’s team was the only team to defeat eventual national champion Clemson, and had four of their losses by a touchdown or less.

It was the second consecutive 8-5 season for Narduzzi, but they are competitive and winning most of the games they are supposed to win despite not landing many blue chip recruits.
