FSU baseball isn’t doing great this season. However, at least they don’t duck anybody when it comes to finishing what’s started unlike the Florida Gators.
The Florida Gators took on Stetson Tuesday night and proceeded to get the brakes beat off them through four innings. However, a lightning delay apparently save the Gators from taking an official loss because they have refused to finish the game according to the Stetson Twitter handle.
Check out the updates below:
We are now in a lightning delay here in Gainesville with Stetson leading Florida 10-1 in the top of the fifth. Game is not yet official.

The Stetson coaches pitched in to get the tarp on the field as the rain began to fall. Settle in, we are going to be here for a while.

Florida has decided not to resume tonight's game and has refused to agree upon a day to continue. The game effectively did not happen.

Fan Reaction
Of course fans immediately starting bringing up the UF/LSU football situation from this past fall:

That should count as a major L for Florida not impressive they backed out either.

Automatic top 25 DQ. Shame Florida, for shame...

Thoughts
I guarantee you if the roles were reversed Florida would have looked to finish the game.
I get that it’s a mid-week non-conference game as a former baseball player, but this is bush league! Florida’s the No. 7 team in the nation and Stetson is 13-17 on the season.
Florida escaped with a 9-8 win in extra innings last month when the two teams matched up.
