Staying Around (11): Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Kentucky
Newcomers (4): Florida State, Miami, Georgia Tech
It’s an ACC invasion into the conference that has been puffing its chest for most of the last decade about all the championships they have won – well, except for this year…and when FSU won back in 2013, but we won’t go there for now. It’s also a welcome back party for the Yellow Jackets, who once called the SEC home.
The moves also mean that the state of Florida will finally be able to declare a state champion each season since the Seminoles, Hurricanes and Gators will now all play each other. Originally, FSU was heading to the West while Miami and Georgia Tech went to the East – but then all three wouldn’t have played each year. So, Vandy gets shipped to the West and all three ACC newbies stay put in the East.
