  • Standard Downs Sack Rate: Unadjusted sack rate for standard downs pass attempts.

Standard downs are (first down, second-and-7 or fewer, third-and-4 or fewer, fourth-and-4 or fewer).

FSU football checks in at No. 87, allowing sacks to take place 6 percent of the time on standard downs.  Again, some of this can be attributed to Francois holding the ball too long or backs not picking up blitzes.

However, it’s not like FSU is taking a ton of deep shots down the field this season. For a team that recruits at a high level, being ranked No. 87 is unacceptable.

Clemson is No. 44, Florida is No. 12 and Miami is No. 33 with Brad Kaaya standing back there like a statue.

Last season FSU football checked in at No. 50 through 13 games.
