Standard Down Lines Yards Per Carry

  • Standard Downs Line Yards per Carry: The raw, unadjusted per-carry line yardage for a team on standard downs (first down, second-and-7 or fewer, third-and-4 or fewer, fourth-and-4 or fewer).

The FSU offensive line checks in at No. 70 in the nation ladies and gentlemen with 2.94 yards per carry in these situations. For comparison sake,  Florida Atlantic and Florida International come in at No. 76 and No. 73.

Florida comes in at No. 33 in the nation. Miami’s offensive line checks in at No. 57 in this category.

Just imagine where this would be if FSU football didn’t have Dalvin Cook, one of the best running backs in the nation.

How many times can you recall Cook getting hit right before or right at the line of scrimmage, but breaking tackles to get 3-5 yards?

Quite often and way more than it should.
