Devonta Freeman

I remember Devonta Freeman getting a FSU offer when he was only rated as a three star play. However, shortly after the FSU offer he began to get offers from all the major programs and ultimately sided with FSU.

I love Freeman for a variety of reasons. He was the first 1,000 yard rusher since Warrick Dunn. He ALWAYS showed up against Miami and did all the little things wonderfully like pass protection.

Not only that, Freeman overcame a lot of off the field issues even before he got to FSU. However, none more notably than the death of a cousin that his mother helped raise that was like a brother to him during his freshman season.

He easily could have detached himself from the team at that point, but they rallied around him and he went on to become an integral part of the FSU offense the next few years.

He’s now the No. 50 player in the NFL’s top 100 players.
