Family Friendly Spots

When you think about Tallahassee, things that come to mind include politics, FSU football and keg stands. While there are plenty of students, fans and alumni who are going shot for shot each game weekend, plenty of Seminole supporters are bringing their families to the 850 and are looking for something everyone can do.

The Tallahassee Museum allows kids and parents alike to learn about the history of the state and interact with animals, learn about conservation efforts and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. There are also museums for the Historic Capitol Building, Lake Jackson Mounds, the Mission San Luis as well as the Museum of Florida History, the Museum of African American History and the Challenger Learning Center.

One of the newest additions to the city’s landscape is the Cascades Park, located just to the southeast of the Capitol Building not far from Monroe Street. There are events for the whole family, including concerts from some of the top musical acts of the past and present at the new amphitheater located on the property. It’s a perfect place for families with kids of all ages and interest.
