Eating

When you go to anywhere outside of your hometown, it’s normal to want to experience things that you don’t normally have at home. While Tallahassee has plenty of the places you can get in South, Central and North Florida, they also have plenty of places to chow down on that will have you telling your friends back home.

For breakfast, you can get your fill of quality food with big portions and great prices at places like Jim and Milt’s BBQ, located just west of campus on Pensacola Street. There are plenty of people who go through FSU that have only eaten breakfast there (the BBQ is pretty decent as well) after nights out enjoying themselves on Tennessee Street. If you just want something a little lighter, Bagel Bagel is just down the road and severs mouthwatering sandwiches and (you guessed it) bagels.

For lunch or a pregame meal, you can’t go wrong with a slice of pizza from Momo’s. With two locations in the city (including one right across from campus), the slices are literally as big as your head and most people can barely finish one.

For dinner the night before or a good postgame meal after a FSU football win, you can stay near campus and hit up traditional spots like Po’Boys (a favorite among students and residents) and Gordo’s Cuban Cuisine (so good it will get the approval from South Florida residents). If you want something a little funkier, check out Kool Beanz just off Thomasville Road with a funky, island vibe and decent chow. If you want something high class, check out Marie Livingston’s Steak House, Harry’s Seafood Bar and Grille or Andrew’s Capital Grill.
