FSU Recruiting: ‘Noles In Need of Recruiting Momentum?
By Kelvin Hunt
Florida Recruiting
The Gators have 5 commitments for the 2017 class thus far with an average rating of 89.18 That’s 3.54 points less on average per player than FSU recruiting. The Gators have picked up two commitments since our last update, but their average per player has dipped slightly.
The have fallen three spots nationally from No. 36 to No. 40 and have dropped from No. 9 to No. 11 in the SEC recruiting rankings.
The class consists of two four-star recruits and a three three-star recruits with all five players being on the offensive side of the ball.
Florida will always be in the mix for top players, especially in the state of Florida, but it’s encouraging that FSU recruiting is smoking them right now. Also, FSU has pulled two of the best defensive tackles in the state of Florida from just outside of Gainesville.
Florida has struggled offensively for the past few years while have stout defenses, so it looks like Jim McElwain is looking to address those offensive concerns in this cycle.
The only question is will they have a quarterback? They have four-star pro style quarterback Jake Allen committed who plays at St. Thomas Aquinas. A place where FSU has gotten a number of great players like Rashad Greene and Lamarcus Joyner.
I’m curious to see if Florida makes a move in the coming month or so.
