FSU Football: 2016 Schedule Breakdown (Game By Game)
By Kelvin Hunt
The ‘Noles will travel to
Miami
FSU south to play the Hurricanes. Miami is under new leadership in former Georgia coach Mark Richt.
The Canes return some talented players. Quarterback Brad Kaaya, receiver Stacy Coley and running back Joseph Yearby among others. How will Kaaya perform in Richt’s offense?
The Canes will also be in a new 4-3 defensive scheme under new coordinator Manny Diaz. The biggest hole here will be the Miami secondary that lost four players due to exhausted eligibility or declaring for the NFL Draft.
Miami plays a joke of a schedule early on, including Florida A&M, Florida Atlantic, Appalachian State and Georgia Tech before hosting FSU.
It’s a bonus they get to play Georgia Tech in the game before FSU, as that will limit their prep time for FSU football since they’ll have to play that triple option.
The ‘Noles defeated the Canes 29-24 for its sixth consecutive win in the rivalry in 2015.
