Defense

The Crusaders play very good defense as they only allow 62.2 points per game which is good for 9th nationally. They force teams into taking bad shots, something that FSU does on its own sometimes.

The Crusaders field the third best field goal percentage defense in the country, holding teams to 38.1 percent from the floor.

They force 13.1 turnovers per game which is good for 132nd in the country. In contrast, the ‘Noles force 13.75 turnovers per game which is good for 93rd in the country.

The Crusaders also defend the three-point shot pretty well, allowing teams to make 33.5 percent of their long-range shots.  The other key stat is teams only attempted 594 three-point attempts against them during the season, which suggests they do a great job of expanding their defense out on the perimeter.

That makes it tougher to get open looks from long-range, and three-point shooting isn’t a consistent strong suit for the ‘Noles.
