Duck Commander Independence Bowl – December 27th – 3:30 PM – ABC

Miami Hurricanes (6-6) vs. South Carolina Gamecocks (6-6)

Breakdown – Both teams in this bowl match-up featured it’s fair share of ups-and-downs this season. Miami started the season 3-3 before winning 3 straight to become 6-3. After a gut-wrenching loss to rival Florida State, the ‘Canes would be blown out by Virginia the next week and closed the season out with a loss. For South Carolina, a season of promise and hope quickly vanished as it’s defense was among the worst in the country.

Players to watch – Freshman quarterback Brad Kaaya is the player to watch for the ‘Canes. He’s been among the top quarterbacks in the ACC in the second half of the season and the ‘Canes will need a strong showing from him in this one. The player to watch for the Gamecocks is wide receiver Pharoh Cooper. The young sophomore emerged as a big-play threat for the Gamecocks this season.

Prediction – Miami hasn’t won a bowl game since 2006, and Al Golden is going to have his team ready to end that streak. Steve Spurrier looks forward to handing the ‘Canes another bowl loss. Miami 45, South Carolina 38
