Roberto Aguayo returns this season to reprise his role as the Seminoles’ placekicker. It’s tough to find many places for the redshirt sophomore to improve, either. Aguayo was nearly perfect last season, missing just a single field goal, and winning a Groza award in his first season of eligibility.

This year Aguayo returns with the confidence last season gave him coupled with a burning desire to be perfect on all of his kicks — he admits that lone miss bothered him more than it should have this past offseason.

The Seminole return game should be potent too, with Levonte “Kermit” Whitfield, Jesus “Bobo” Wilson, Karlos Williams and Rashad Greene all contributing on kicks and punts. Tyler Hunter can return kicks too, but in light of his neck injury last season coaches may hold off on asking him to incur any additional punishment on returns this year.

The lone question mark facing the Seminoles this year is at punter. Jonathan Hernandez, a sophomore walk-on, challenged incumbent Cason Beatty during camp but it looks as if Beatty will enter 2014 as the starter. Beatty has struggled with his consistency in his first two years. If those problems persist, Herandez could see time this season.
