The Citadel (Home Opener) – September 6th

2013 Record: 5-7

Returning Starters: 6 on offense, 7 on defense

FSU has dominated FCS opponents under Jimbo Fisher, winning all five games since 2010 by a margin of 299-25. In their first home game, fans will have a chance to celebrate and welcome home the defending champs. This game will be a tune-up game, however. The Bulldogs are breaking in an entire new offensive-line under first year coach Mike Houston. They must also replace their top two rushers Ben Dupree and Darien Robinson, who combined for 1,974 yards and 25 touchdowns on the ground.

This is a fast-paced no-huddle triple-option offense, so it’s going to provide the defense with an early challenge. The talent is just not there for the Citadel to contend in this game. This will be a good chance for FSU to see how good their depth is, the freshmen class in particularly. It’s not all bad for the Citadel, as they’ll be taking home a check with them for $440,000.
