Jimbo Fisher Has Expectations, Too

Jimbo Fisher seems like a nice guy. He also seems to be a pretty good coach and recruiter. What he doesn’t seem like, though, is a guy who is willing to sell himself out to win over a fanbase. There is nothing wrong with that — provided he regularly wins games and gets the FSU program back to the point where they are perennial National Title contenders.

That is the thing. Fisher is going to have more pressure on him than he has had in the past. All of this is going to go on while he has a redshirt freshman behind center. Normally a thing like that might temper expectations, but with the hype behind Winston reaching Tim Tebow-like levels, Fisher has a tough task ahead of him.

What to definitely keep an eye out for during Monday’s game is how hands-on Fisher is during it. He is already known as a good recruiter and a winner during press conferences, however, his in-game coaching ability often comes under fire. It should be interesting to see if Fisher decides to be even more hands on than he usually is. If he isn’t and they lose, well, he’ll be blamed for not being involved enough.

If he were to be heavily involved and they were still to lose — Armageddon.
