Jalen Brown

I'll be honest. This player isn't a guy I expected to return for the 2025 season. It's wide receiver Jalen Brown who transferred from LSU before the 2024 season.

Brown was the No. 71 player overall and No. 12 wide receiver in the 2023 recruiting class. He has elite speed and lists at 6'1" and 175 pounds.

He didn't play a single snap at LSU before transferring, so FSU was banking on their high school evaluations since they recruited him then.

Brown struggled to get open and was a liability in the run-blocking game because he was not strong enough to lock on and drive defensive backs out of the way.

I saw him blow up on the sidelines at least once, or maybe it was out of frustration in a losing season.

Nevertheless, Mike Norvell allowed him to return this year. He does have a skill set that could flourish in Gus Malzahn's system of deep-shot plays when the running game is clicking.

As I've mentioned, the receiver room is much deeper than last year, and Brown is a guy who needs to find a role going into his third year in college.
