FSU head coach Willie Taggart spoke with media Thursday morning prior the Noles taking the practice field. I give my thoughts on the interview.

Willie Taggart isn’t saying much these days as the Noles are halfway through their season at (3-3). They have a huge conference road game against Wake Forest (5-1). That game will likely determine the trajectory of the second half of the season.

A win means a better than average shot at winning eight games which is right where most folk in the know had this team prior tot he season.

A loss and things could get dicey depending on how the loss happens and the amount of fight left in the team at that point.

Taggart address several things like who’ll start at QB, Travis Jay, Cole Minshew, Jauan Williams and the importance of getting a win this week. The entire interview can be seen below:

Thoughts

I’m not sure who will be the starting QB against Wake Forest, but I believe whoever the starter is will likely play the entire game unless they just stink it up.

There’s a reason Taggart didn’t confirm both quarterbacks would play like he has in previous weeks. If I had to put money on someone I’d say it’ll be James Blackman since he is a captain and won the job to begin with.

The weather in Winston-Salem could be nasty with some rain and wind, so they’ll need someone with a strong-arm if they want to put the ball in the air.

It sucks Travis Jay will not be able to play this year as he’s a fine talent that could have helped this team this year. The return of Cole Minshew and Jauan Williams should be helpful as those guys get into better game shape.

Taggart also mentioned some of the younger offensive linemen putting in work and getting better as something to look forward to in the future. I think Taggart understands the importance of this game for his players to continue to buy-in and play at a high level.

Next. A Breakdown of Wake Forest Football. dark

I expect them to play with a purpose Saturday night much like they did against NC State.
