FSU Football: Fans react to Derwin James No. 1 college player ranking

FSU football All-World safety Derwin James is the No. 1 college football player according to Sports Illustrated. We have the fan reaction to the news.

FSU football safety Derwin James is no stranger to accolades as he was a consensus five-star recruit and the No.1 ranked safety coming out of high school.
He became an All-American as a true freshman with FSU. James burst onto the college football scene with 91 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.
James tore his meniscus against Charleston Southern and missed the remainder of the season.
He is used to high praise but enters this season with a new set of expectations placed upon him. Sports Illustrated has named him as the No. 1 player in college football coming off a season where he basically didn’t play.

Thoughts
The last tweet from Chris Palmer may be the best description I’ve seen when trying to compare who Derwin James is as a player.
Will James be drafted No.1 in the upcoming NFL Draft? It’s not likely as a safety has never been taken No. 1 overall, but he’ll likely go top 5.

I keep saying it, but FSU football fans really need to embrace getting to watch Derwin James play this year, much like we did with Jameis Winston and Dalvin Cook as of late.
These types of talents are rare and it says a lot about FSU football that Jimbo Fisher was able to land them.
