FSU football star safety Derwin James pulls off a sick between the legs dunk. FSU fans look and respond in awe and fear on Twitter.
It’s true FSU football has had some of the most freak athletes in the history of college football to come through its program.
There are players like Deion Sanders, Jalen Ramsey, Peter Warrick, Warrick Dunn and now there’s Derwin James.
James could be the best blend of size, speed and power of any athlete that has ever graced Doak Campbell Stadium, and that’s saying a lot.
Don’t believe me? Check out this effortless between the legs dunk James posted Monday just a few months off surgery to repair a torn meniscus:

Just incredible! I watched that in awe, but at the same time I was holding my breath that he didn’t hurt himself. It seems like fellow FSU football fans were feeling the same way:

...And then he went over to Howser and hit a home run, after that, a hole in one at the golf course - and then balanced Florida's budget...

This is sick, no effort at all

Love the athleticism! Just stay healthy. Basketball can be unforgiving with rolled ankles. #weneedyou #beastmode #gonoles

I'm thinking you watched this praying this guy did not snap an ankle

INSANE! Freak athlete. Don't do it again. Stay healthy so you can dunk over goalpost after pick 6

Thoughts
As a former college baseball player, we were forbidden from playing basketball because of the possibility of rolling an ankle, etc.
In fact, one of our ace pitchers broke his throwing arm trying to cushion his fall after being undercut going for a rebound in a game of 21.
What if you had read a headline saying James was injured playing basketball and how sick you’d be?

It’s an impressive feat for a guy barely over six feet and 215 pounds, but please stick to football until this season is over Derwin!
