SEC commentator and notorious troll Paul Finebaum loves to go after FSU, and it’s time for Seminole fans to be better than him.

For the last three seasons in the world of college football, it’s been a running joke to talk about the world of “FSU Twitter”. Anytime something says anything remotely negative about the Seminoles or any player in garnet and gold, the fans take to social media and ether those haters to comical levels.

One of those who has made a living taking shots at the Seminoles over the last few seasons has been notorious troll and SEC mouthpiece Paul Finebaum. Whether it’s on his boring radio show, work on the SEC Network before exciting Vanderbilt football games or his appearances on ESPN shows (showing their bias), Lil’ Paul has taken shots at FSU whenever possible.

Whether it’s making personal comments about Jameis Winston, Jimbo Fisher or taking joy any time the Seminoles lose a game, Finebaum doesn’t miss a chance. It’s almost a sick, borderline obsession that he has with FSU football and sports as a whole (much like others associated with the SEC, who wish the ‘Noles were in the conference).

Too often, FSU fans and FSU Twitter go all in on Finebaum and make things worse for a simple reason: feeding the troll is doing exactly what they want. Any time a Seminoles fan responds to what the man who looks like a male body part says, it validates him and makes Finebaum think he is more than just a redneck who has never played a down of organized sports in his life.

Instead, fans of FSU sports (in particular football) need to do one thing when Lil’ Paul decides to take his next shot at the Seminoles: ignore him. It’s easier said than done, but it’s what needs to take place.

Finebaum and the rest of the SEC are going to be salivating at a chance to knock off the ‘Noles when FSU takes on Ole Miss in the opener. If the Seminoles are victorious, their hopes will then rest on Miami, since they are coached by a former SEC leader. That will be followed by Clemson, who they like for losing to Alabama last year, and finally the year ender against Florida.

If the Seminoles get through the season undefeated and are able to win the fourth national title in school history, it will drive Finebaum and others crazier than if any other school one…even  Michigan and Ohio State.

FSU, for all intensive purposes, is closer to a SEC football school than an ACC program in many ways. The SEC realizes that and now understands they made a mistake in not accepting the Seminoles as a member and bowing to pressure from Florida. If FSU was in the SEC, the conference couldn’t be touched by any other league.

Instead, FSU went to the “basketball conference” and as had a winning record over the SEC during that span while bringing home three national titles over the last 24 seasons, which is only matched by Alabama’s five titles and Florida’s three from the “best conference in college football”.

So, the next time you hear a whiny, annoying voice coming from your TV or radio saying something bad about FSU, ignore it…and just laugh after the Seminoles show the SEC who their daddy is yet again.
