FSU football only had two players selected in the 2016 NFL draft. However, several players could be drafted in 2017, including Dalvin Cook.

FSU football will look to make a run at another National Championship in 2016, and Dalvin Cook will continue to shoulder his share of the offensive load.

It’s likely his final year in Tallahassee, one that could see him continue to break FSU rushing records and position himself to go early in the NFL Draft after the season is complete.

Let’s face it, it would not make much sense for him to return for his senior season.

The 2017 running back class is rich with talent including Cook, Leonard Fournette, Nick Chubb, Wayne Gallman and Christian McCaffrey.

There are several lists of top NFL prospects already out for the NFL Draft 2017. The SportingNews released their list of top NFL prospects and had Dalvin Cook in their “others to watch” list.

Here’s their top 5:

  1. Deshaun Watson, QB
  2. Myles Garrett, DE
  3. Leonard Fournette, RB
  4. Cam Robinson, OT
  5. Christian McCaffrey, RB

We have no quarrels with Watson being in the No. 1 spot, the kid is extremely talented and can certainly play in the NFL. However, having two running backs listed before Dalvin Cook?

Let’s examine.

Next: Christian McCaffrey?
