This would be great news for Seminole fans.

FSU FOOTBALL RECRUITING

Florida State football recruiting was rocking out in the early summer months as it was getting commitment after commitment. However, as June wound down and July entered, it started to slow down. Nonetheless, the Seminoles are sitting with the 14th-best recruiting class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

I had mentioned in a previous article that four-star linebacker DQ Forkpa will be visiting for the Florida State-Alabama season opener, according to a report from Warchant's Matt LaSerre. I think this could be a great development for the program as they hope to get a talented prospect in the fold.

It is worth mentioning that they already have three linebackers in the fold with Karon Maycock, Noah LaVallee, and Izayia Williams. However, with William's uncertainty about his pledge after switching from six different schools, it could be worth the investment to secure another prospect at his position.

JONAH WINSTON

Florida State football's recruiting class is already full at the wide receiver position. It is worth noting that head football coach Mike Norvell was a former wide receiver at Central Arkansas, so he has a deep understanding of the position.

It was great that Florida State was able to secure position coach Tim Harris Jr. because he has been a rockstar recruiter. This isn't throwing a shot at the previous assistant, Ron Dugans. He was a former Seminole and bled Garnet and Gold, but Harris Jr. is showing off his recruiting prowess.

Florida State has four-star wide receiver prospects in the class already, such as Devin Carter, Brandon Bennett, Jasen Lopez, Darryon Williams, and Efrem White. However, the Seminoles might after another familiar name soon.

Class of 2026 three-star wide receiver prospect Jonah Winston (younger brother of Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Jameis Winston) will reportedly be making his commitment on August 30th.

Previously, we at ChopChat had reported that he would be unofficially visiting Florida State for the Alabama season opener on August 30th, so this commitment date would be a very encouraging that the Seminoles could be the selection there.

I would love the fit, and Winston has come to Tallahassee with his older brother playing here.
