FSU FOOTBALL RECRUITING

Florida State football will be taking on the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday, August 30th, at 3:30 PM EST in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell Stadium. This is certainly a matchup that many in the fan base are excited for as the program looks to forget 2024 ever happened.

The coaching staff wants to prove to those doubters (yes... I am speaking to you, Paul Finebaum and Greg McElroy) wrong about the Seminoles. The program has been largely described as a product that many don't know about, given the new players and coaches on the squad.

However, Florida State wants to have a great atmosphere in the newly renovated Doak Campbell Stadium. It needs to be money well spent for a project that was heavily criticized, since there was a portion of the fan base that lost seats that they had had for a long time.

Nonetheless, the recruits should have enough excitement as a top-ten opponent in Alabama comes to town. The Seminoles are currently sitting with a top-fifteen class in the 2026 cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Florida State recently got a commitment from four-star linebacker Izayia Williams. This pickup received massive criticism because Williams has committed to six schools throughout his recruitment process.

I like the construction of linebacker prospects that Florida State has in their recruiting class with Karon Maycock, Noah LaVallee, and now Izayia Williams. However, they could be adding another option to the fold as four-star DQ Forkpa is visiting for the Florida State-Alabama season opener, according to a report from Warchant's Matt LaSerre.

This is a prospect that the Seminoles have shown interest in, but I never envisioned them giving Forkpa the "green light" because he had been leaning to the arch-rival Florida Gators after saying that he envisioned himself in the Garnet and Gold.

I believe that Florida State is now opening itself to the idea of adding Forkpa to the recruiting class, and I wouldn't mind the take at all, especially if the program added four linebackers to the fold.

Overall, it will be an exciting time in Tallahassee for the season opener. I just hope that recruits have a fun time and the program finds a way to beat the Crimson Tide.
